Have you ever ridden (horseback, preferably) through a forest and suddenly come into an aspen grove? The beauty and peaceful energy there is literally palpable. One of the first times I ever “saw” plant devas was on just such a ride. My guide told me that all aspens in one grove come from the roots of the Mother Tree. All the trees are siblings. Those devas (which I saw only as swirls of energy dancing in the grove) seemed to be ecstatic with joy – a joy that mirrored itself in the quivering of the leaves on each of the sister-trees.
Indeed, the devas of the plant worlds seem to delight in their “job” – the job of extending life in every direction and as far as possible.
Extension anchors itself in the eyes in the palms of your hands. Can you “see” the life force of a tree as you reach out and touch it? Can you “sense” the danger of a rose thorn just before you touch it? That’s Extension expressing itself through you.
With Extension in your garment pattern, you may or may not be able to see the swirls of energy (the devas) around plants, but you certainly can sense the power and radiant beauty, yes?

This is an affirmation sharing my experiences & ‘wisdom thoughts’ of the principle of Extension in my life shaped by its inner(plant divas) and outer(hand) foci, sun sign-cancer, and 11th house
I’m most aware of my plant divas in the first blooms of my roses (a highpoint), but also in the sequencing of flowering in our yard from forsythia through chrysanthemums. The fuzzy gray-green of Spring cycles into the golden gingko & orange-reddish sugar maple. I’ve come to follow those cycles in our yard.
The outer focus for me originates in the handshake, the touch, the hug, the sensing I get from touch. I’ve always been aware of the depth of the returned handshake which I seek out. It becomes a subconscious ‘knowing’….I am particularly ‘hand aware’.
My life path comfortably resonates a fluidity embracing familial non-traditionality, & multi-generational relationships. While some of that “flow” has been culturally hard, it is as though aspects have almost been “invited” for me to guide & be a part of.
My passion, not always actualized, for aspects of the United Nations Earth Charter components inclusive of all sentient beings, & my mind’s eye vision of that blue orb Earth from outer space rest with extension in my 11th house of the New Age. (I love the photo of our planet Earth on my much used credit card, which often brings brief yet spiritual conversations as I use it.) I am keenly attuned to current social justice issues including crimes of hate, LGBTQ issues, immigration, and all ‘isms’ . I am a political animal concerned with the energy of “how does our world work?”
The gift it appears I bring is to create people connections, invite ideas, develop people projects, keeping the “flow” moving.

Sun Sign- Cancer- Principle Extension, in the 11th house
My Sun is in the principle Extension, my reason for incarnating, and is in the eighth house – the house of transformation.
I grew up in rural Arkansas and as a child it was lonely and isolated, but I had the Plant Devas. They were not like imaginary friends, but they were always present. I just knew they were there. It is as true today for me as it was then.
I counted the days till I graduated high school and could leave. I knew I would die if I did not get away. No one understood why I wanted to leave, and neither did I really. I joined the Air Force and 20 years later I retired, after having traveled around the world, getting my undergraduate and graduate degrees, and learning much about how things work in our world.
I had a very strong desire to have an education and to see the world. Now I know it was the principle Extension that showed me the unlikely choice of a military career would work for me.
My career was primarily during peacetime. I joined at the end of the Vietnam War and retired shortly after the first Gulf War. I worked in medical administration so I was always working with doctors and nurses and other medical staff. The TV show and movie MASH, was very popular when I joined and the medical staff often acted as if they were MASH characters. By the time I retired, it was totally different – Rambo was the rage. I could deal with MASH but not Rambo.
As I progressed in rank, I was introduced to Professional Military Education. It was in these courses that I learned how the government actually operates, and how it protects and is protected. Of all that I encountered during my career, I value this information the most.
I also see Extension in the eighth house, the house of transformation, at work during my career. I was changing, my ideas and thoughts were changing, the world was changing. I never held ‘the status quo military view of things’ which made me very different than my peers and superiors. Building on experience, learning from others, and letting go of things that no longer work is all transformational.
I am currently a massage therapist. My hands are what I use to do my work. They are sensitive to the muscles that I’m working on, but they are also aware of the subtle energy that surrounds us all. After doing massage and body work for over 20 years, I’m still in awe of our body and its wonderful design. I am amazed what a simple touch can do to transform many situations.
Perhaps it was the sweet energy of the Plant Devas that I remembered when it was time to decide where to live after retiring. The day my husband and I decided where to build our house, I swear I saw all types of Earth Angels jumping for joy, like there was reason to celebrate. I am very grateful to the Plant Devas, and sometimes I am able to glimpse the Earth Angels who have been with me as long as I can remember.
Extension is my only Ascending principle. I have it in Mars (Sag) in the 7th House. I do know the world through touch. I notice I touch more than I ever realised when my kids would comment on me doing it, feeling the texture, strength, the ‘feel’ of a thing.
I trained as a psychotherapist, but when I began to practise I realised I felt like my hands were tied to my sides – I wanted to offer human touch. My work had to allow that. It does now, both as a reiki healer and as a palmist (Certified Hand Analyst).
My spiritual reawakening began in a garden. (perhaps a combo of Humility and Extension?) I literally ‘saw’ the energetic reality of a tree I was drawn to whilst walking my dog. I placed my hand on the trunk and a vision opened of a billion golden cells of light moving up and down within the membrane of the tree. It was unexpected and astonishing, and literal. I took my hand off and it closed, put my hand on and it opened! I could see the tree energy more easily than I could see the auras of humans.
One of the most beautiful dreams of my life involved attending a wedding where the guests were multidimensional beings. The ‘plant people’ (devas I’m guessing) came and I could not take my eyes off them – they were SO BEAUTIFUL. And they were having fun! We were all sitting in pews, very high and old fashioned – and there they were in all their soft green, petalled cool beauty.
